Happy New Year!
看來大家對於新年的英文都很好奇！那，我們來學一些拜年真的用得到的句子!
首先「恭喜發財」英文怎麼講？
May you be happy and prosperous! （Prosperous 是繁榮、富裕、有財的意思。）
不過，這是很「東方」的祝福。我覺得西方人會喜歡，會覺得有些異國情調，但可能要跟他們說明一下它的出處。西方人頭腦簡單，我們會直接說 Happy New Year. 無趣！

「今年是羊年」呢？
It’s the Year of the Goat. 或 It’s the Year of the Sheep. 或 It’s the Year of the Ram. 其實，西方人在爭論是哪一個！不過，大部分的西方人會說 Goat.

「你屬什麼」呢？
那個「屬」不用翻。可以簡單地問：
A: What’s your Chinese animal?
B: I’m a tiger.
因為西方的星座說 star sign 或 sign, 也有人會問： “What’s your Chinese animal sign?” 或簡化成 “What’s your Chinese sign?” 回答跟上面一樣。愛正經八百說法的人可能會講：
A: Under which Chinese animal sign were you born?
B: I was born in the Year of the Tiger.
這有點矯情，你可以像我這個簡單的人一樣: What’s your Chinese animal?

「春聯」呢？
Spring couplets. 字面上，couplets 是對子、對句、對聯的意思。我覺得「貼」最自然的翻譯是 put up:
Hey, I’m going to put up some Spring couplets today!
(我今天要貼春聯喔！)
